What’s Next for Hemp?

Oct 7th 2026

There’s a lot of scary talk about hemp right now. So let’s start with the most important part:

This isn’t over.

What’s happening?

Federal hemp rules are currently scheduled to change on December 11, 2026.

The new definition would use total THC, including THCA, which could remove much of the hemp flower sold legally today from the federal definition of hemp.

That would be a very big deal for businesses like Bliss.

But December 11 isn’t the whole story.

The deadline was originally November 12. Congress already pushed it back once, giving lawmakers more time to find another solution.

There’s also a bipartisan bill in Congress, the Lawful Hemp Protection Act, that proposes a different path: keeping hemp legal while adding things like 21+ sales, testing, labeling and product standards.

Has it passed? No.

Could things still change before December 11? Yes.

And that’s why this is the time to speak up, not give up.

Want to help?

You can ask your own members of Congress to support a regulated path forward for legal hemp.

Tell Congress:

U.S. Hemp Roundtable Federal Action Center

You can also add your name to the national petition supporting regulation instead of elimination.

Add Your Name:

American Healthy Alternatives Association national petition

Both take just a few minutes. No donation or membership required.

If you can add a personal note, do it. A sentence or two about why hemp matters to you can make your message more meaningful.

There’s still a fight happening. Bliss plans to be part of it.

We’ll keep you posted as we know more.
